✨ What You’ll Need:

  • ✅ Lightbulb cutouts (1 per child)
  • ✅ Dark circle cutouts (1 per child)
  • ✅ Clear contact paper (optional, to keep pieces secure on the floor)
  • ✅ Optional: Flashlights for each learner

🧠 How to Prep:

  1. Cut out the lightbulbs and dark circles (Download below ⬇️).
  2. Scatter them in a mixed pattern across the room.
  3. Stick them to the floor using contact paper to help keep them in place.

🚶 Game Directions:

  1. The leader will call out an action that reflects Walking in the Light, such as:
    • “Reading God’s Word”
    • “Praying”
    • “Going to church”
    • “Telling others about Jesus”
➡️ When they hear these, kids jump from one lightbulb to another!
  2. The leader will also call out actions that reflect Walking in Darkness, like:
    • “Breaking a promise”
    • “Saying bad words”
    • “Not telling the truth”
    • “Jealousy”
⬅️ When they hear these, learners jump onto a dark circle.

📖 Say aloud:

“In the beginning, the world was dark. But God said, ‘Let there be light!’ (Genesis 1:3). We follow Jesus when we walk in the light.”

♿ Inclusive Strategies for All Abilities:

💡 For Nonverbal Learners:
Use picture symbol cards or voice output devices so they can participate by pointing or activating a sound cue (like “light” or “dark”).

💡 For Children in Wheelchairs:
Encourage them to roll to the lightbulbs or dark circles or use flashlights to shine on their choice. This can be a great visual way to mark decisions!

💡 For Children with Low Vision:
Use high-contrast visuals (light cutouts on dark floors or with bold outlines) and tactile borders. Provide verbal cues and allow close-up exploration before the game begins.

💡 Sensory Supports:
Allow headphones or ear defenders, use calm background music, and offer breaks as needed.

🙌 Why This Matters:

This game not only supports Bible learning—it also helps every child feel included, engaged, and confident. Whether they jump, roll, point, or shine a light, every child can learn what it means to walk in the light of Christ.
